My New Beginning

I've been down for awhile...

Well more like forever

But I'm over the pain

And I've decided to put a smile on my face

Pick myself up

And take the first step

Leaving you in my past

I wont let you hurt me anymore

Because I've done the hardest thing

I wont hate you back

So take all your lies 

And look me in the eyes

Do you see someone who believes you anymore?

So before I go

I just have to let you know

I think I deserve 

My new beginning

The last stanza is well done. Taking back the power in your life and not letting someone hurt you anymore. this poem speaks of past pain and moving in a positive direction. I am right with you on this. Moving forward after four years. Long story but this poem really hit home with me right now.
