Found Again.

A dog in the middle of the road is lost. The town is a shabby outpost by the abandoned

highway. Through the charred fences and under the dusty rooftops a ghost town with

secrets. The young pup investigates his new surroundings. Any other day he'd usually wait

for master to take such morning walks but not today. The sun rays beating down on the

orange dusty rocks. The wind howling through shattered windows. A glare in the distance

suggest water. The pup walks slowly toward refreshment but in an moment a wild pack of

native dogs surround the young pup.

Local wild dogs that survive on scavenging and good lucks fortune. The summer time

has been very brutal. A fresh meal is exactly what they need. The dogs are covered in a

gray mist coat. There big yellow eyes watch with razor sharp teeth clenched tight. The dogs

attack and off like jack rabbits on a cold winters day. Barking wildly and salivating the wild

dogs bite furiously at the pup.

Uninjured the pup gains mometum his fast lean figure allows for such agility.

The abandoned houses creak in despair a sight known to well. The red dust blows further

down the road. When finally after much anticipation the pup is cornered.

Breathing heavily and confused he gazes upon the enemy. He must fight back. With a

forward thrust like a rocket ship he lunges at the pack leader. Both dogs rapidly tumble on

the floor. Screaming yelps and blood begins to splatter on the orange dirt road.

The wild dogs barked furiously cheering on for their captain. The pup is subdued and

with a smile on his face. The warm breeze on his tongue & the beautiful rays of light calling

him forward. He awakens from the confusion and bites with all his might. The wild dog

screams in agony. His left eye socket bleeding profusely he runs in retreat, his subjects follow.

Surviving in the middle of a road on a warm red afternoon the dog is found.

I like. The ending is great."the warm breeze on his tongue.." and "surviving in the middle of the road...." I am from the midwest, and this story made me vividly picture some of the Indian Reservations here.
