CourageA Poem by yoloWrote this for a Macbeth project at school, but might as well share it here too! What is courage? Is it to take the hilt of your sword And bury it in the enemy? Or is it to Amend the enemy for his mistakes and Offer a helping hand? Is it to willingly do what you’re told, Or to refuse to do so? Is it to resent the people in position of power, Or to admire them for their leadership? Is it to rid the world of deeds seemed unfair, Or to encourage them till they are undone? For courage may be facing your fears Looking them in the eye and saying ‘I’m not scarred.’ But to be scarred is to be humane And to lose humanity makes us all insane. ‘Will all great Neptune's ocean wash this blood Clean from my hand? No, this my hand will rather The multitudinous seas incarnadine, Making the green one red.’ © 2014 yoloAuthor's Note
