Future

Future

A Poem by yolo
"

Wrote this after seeing my guidance Councillor - kinda depression sesh with her but inspired some flow! Btw the singer I had in mind while writing this is Derek Whibley, singer for Sum 41.

"
She sits across from me
At her desk, eyes glazed over,
Smile pasted on, lines
On her face showing a deflated spirit.
A life that's lost at sea,
Giving up on direction.
Floating aimlessly through life, she asks me
"What do you want to be?"

I look at her, a old warrior
Who lost the will to fight.
Fed up with life, she looks
Empty, done with ordeals.
My answer comes out,
Harsh at first take, but
Sincere, the honest truth;
"Not this".

He looks out at a crowd
Of adoring fans, exhausted
From singing his heart out.
He's made it as some would say,
The crowd chants his name, his
Guitar shines, reflecting adoring faces
Of his fans, their eyes so bright
Waiting for the next rift to start.

I'm just a face in the crowd,
Far from the stage, the spotlight and fame.
But I taste it, I crave it,
A chance to feel the rush.
The flow of hands reaching out to you,
Screaming along to a poetic tune.
And with great sincerity I say
"I want this."
