StrandedA Poem by yoloJust something I wrote for English class, kinda changed as I wrote, hope you enjoy! If I follow you to the end
of the Earth, Would you turn around? If I stay with you till
time does stop Would we make a sound? If I jump just say how
high I crave to make you proud.
When we spend our life
together It’s like we’re in a
cloud.
When I see you, don’t walk
on by Stop to say a word. Well I call and you don’t
answer My life remains unheard. If the stars come out at
night It doesn’t matter to me. As a brave man once said Let it be, let it be.
Treat me harshly if you
must You may be filled with
greed. Your desires not just, nor
lawfully good Just a smouldering plead. I want to help you, show
you the way Please just let me in. But the day goes on, rain
falls down, My lust just turns to sin.
I understand we live
different lives Yours so filled with
joy. Mine was empty, no love
for me, So I did deploy. War is hell, I’m afraid
everyday My unit was just sent out.
My chances of ever seeing
you again Well, I’m beginning to
doubt.
This will be my last poem
to you My last plea of hope. I don’t intend to make you
cry, Please don’t go and mope. Have fun, be merry, live
life to the best. Get engaged, have kids,
please just don’t distress. My life, not yours, was
lost at war, Just know you’re the only
one I adore. © 2014 yoloAuthor's Note
