Passion

Passion

A Poem by sierra_jo

the fire

the flame

the sun licks your cheeks

and you try to tame

your twisting stomach

your wrenching heart

you lick her lips

but you can't part

the blue of her pulse

the grey of her skin

your mouth opens

but you can't let air in

-

kiss her neck

and feel her teeth on your tongue

(Boy listen to me while you're still young!)

but she is grasping your chest

- too late

she latches on with no release

and looks for freedom in your eyes

as they turn to you, you see

a fire

a flame

the throbbing pulse sinks you slowly

the tides

they engulf

the highs

they consume

now people look past your corpse with no surprise

but you

of all people, you

can't see past the coins on your eyes

did you possibly forget

don't you remember

those lips that held you together

why darling,

you were kissing death
