I feel alone

I feel alone

A Poem by lawrence bear
"

life repeats a familiar tune

"

I feel alone,

like the fading moon.

Whispers in the wind,

repeats a familiar tune.

The bottle,

calls to those it pleases.

Tempting me,

So much it teases.

I feel alone

My body,

How much it shakes.

My world,

How much it quakes.

I feel alone

Give in,

It cries.

You need me,

It lies.

I feel alone

I am weak,

my life it gambles.

One beer equals,

my life in shambles.

I feel alone,

like the fading moon.

Whispers in the wind,

repeats a familiar tune.

I feel alone

whispers

a familiar tune.

I feel alone,

reaching

I give in all too soon

The bottle,

my world

The gamble.

I feel alone

Addiction takes us to these depths of deception in our souls that no one could ever understand..that hasn't experienced it..
As I read this all I could think of is the power that this poem gives that bottle.. as it invites and taunts..and yet the feeling of walking away gives us that same power in threefold..
I will gamble to say...that you are not as alone as you think and...this moment is just that and will pass.. xo

A powerful poem. When we have only one friend. The bottle. Can become a lonely world. I like the emotion of each set of lines giving the poem strength and meaning. Thank you for sharing the excellent poem.
