Illusions Of Love

 

 

How much I loved you,
I guess I still do.
The love that you gave me,

always seemed true.

As I stand alone now,
I remember our dreams.
I wished they'd come true
I guess nothing's as it seems.

Maybe love is an illusion
but if that were so,

 why do I still love you ?
Why can't I let go?

I wish you were mine,

and I'll always cherish.
All of the moments,
our words could not parish.

 

I'll always love you,
you'll remain in my heart.

Together forever,
till death do us part.

I really liked the third stanza, and maybe it's because I'm going through something similar right now. Letting go is possibly one of the hardest things, as I feel like its human nature to hold onto things that give us comfort and love. Wonderful and straightforward.
