Journal. # 456.

It has been a while since I put a pen to this surface. I thought I was done with you old friend. I had looked at my last entry, and it has been almost a year since we’ve made contact. I thought maybe those days were over between us.

But now, I am in search of my brother

He is my uncle, but I embrace him like a brother. I am troubled at this time, like those other days I suppose, the storm rages and he is missing with my cousin’s husband. I fear for the worst, only the words I thought of have now over come me. Today we leave to search for them. It is daybreak, and the fog seems thick. The clouds still hang about, but they don’t rumble within. No rain, it is a good sign.

Many have volunteered, and the day starts off good. We are sure they are safe. We set out to Moose Island, as it is closer. I only hope they are there. My heart has sunk, but I try to hold a face. No one is sadder than I. It is I that dwells in what I had said.

There are some things we do in life; we sometimes wish we hadn’t done. And then there things we didn’t do, we wish we could have done. Both haunt me, as we go in search of them. I must go now; I will be back my friend. Wish me luck, to find and return safely so I can write once more.

And sometimes finding closure with the two remorses is very hard.
