I dream of you
A Poem by
lawrence bear
A struggle I give into
Last
night
I
dreamed of you.
My heart
It ached.
How I
yearn
For your
affection.
A flame
That
once
Blazed.
Now lay
Smouldering,
I try
To stir
And rekindle
To no
avail.
I am
invisible,
Withdrawn.
Like,
I no
longer exist.
Cast
away
I am
adrift.
On the
ocean
Of
Your
heart.
Battling
A raging
sea,
Fighting
to stay
Afloat.
I reach
for
Your
hand.
Slowly
Slipping
Its grasp.
My sails
Have
torn,
No
paddle,
No life
jacket.
I am
losing,
Hope.
The waves
Overcome
me
I
drown
In the
emptiness
Of your
heart.
Lost
Forgotten
maybe
I will
Never
know.
I am
dead
I lost
My soul.
Into
The abyss
I go,
A struggle
I give
into.
The darkness
Welcomes
me,
My body
My soul
Slowly
fading
Away.
Last
night
I dreamed
of you.

Beautiful and sad. Love can be wonderful but the heartbreak that follows can be so cruel.

You are very welcome. :)
A sad journey in the poem. Old memories can make us sink into old hope and dreams. I like the flow of thoughts leading to the hopeful endings in dreams. Thank you my friend for sharing the outstanding poetry.

thank you for your review coyote, :)
This is exactly what I'm dealing with right now. You beautifully captured the emotion and the desolation and the ache. Well done.

It is our subconscious that holds the hidden desires that we all lament

The formatting really gives an insight to your feeling of disconnect and loss. The hopelessness is apparent as is the suffering. This is one of the only works done by another person that I could see myself having written, thank you for sharing it.
