Then & Now

In memory of my brother :)

Yesterday it was, that we laughed together;
Today it is, that I cry for his laughter;
Somebody please turn back the time,
For I have lost the other half of mine;
I remember how he and I fought,
And I remember how he and life fought;
I know he must have fought hard.
I wish I had the chance,
To take one last glance;
At his face filled with love,
Before he flew away like a bird;
What I thought were angels,
Ended up being ambulances;
I lost a brother,
And I also lost my other;
So many things were left unsaid,
So many things were left undid,
I had yet to play with his kids;
His time with us was over,
I thank god for making him my brother;
I'll be waiting for him in my dreams,
To re-live all those beautiful memories.

I see though this poem is filled with sadness it also has acceptance:
I thank god for making him my brother;
I'll be waiting for him in my dreams
Sadness is easy, it comes and stays, acceptance is probably the most difficult thing to do when you lose somebody, especially someone so close, but acceptance is the combination of hope and strength and you displayed those emotions very clearly in this poem. I hope to read something of yours soon.

Your brother shall always exist in this life, as long as he can live in the memories of you. I can feel the emotions that lie underneath each words, for they are powered by your love for your brother. I can sense that you have a good heart and a clean and pure soul in which your brother shall live in. He will make his new home in your heart and as long as you're happy, he will also be happy. For he can live in the heart of his awesome little brother. You are really talented and you should never stop writing.
