Victory

Victory

A Poem by timthy
"

Another look at our human misbehavior

"
As society declines
In a reverse evolution
A civil war defines
This new revolution

Once open minds
Now hiding in seclusion
Progress slowly rewinds
Halting to repetitive conclusion

Desperate need for absolution
To this hate and animosity
Viral outbreak of mind pollution
Results in epidemic atrocity

Unwittingly forced to rely
Upon voices of confusion
No longer can we deny
This gaping mortal contusion

Aspiring to reach
Some divine revelation
Future generations to teach
Of their own relevation

Every generation
Accounts for mankind's duration
Responsible for elevation
Vital global maturation

Mankind must resolve
To be better than before
Without this absolve
Only pestilence and war

A need to subjugate
Seeds of hate and duplicity
Surging forward to undulate
Waves of absolute integrity

To come together as one
Race,creed, color... united
Once first step has begun
Too strong to be divided

Despite our many contrasts
And apparent contradictions
Staying in contention with the
past
Making successful our convictions

Pledge to your offspring
To forego repeating history
Creating a future to bring
Ultimate human victory!
