The Human Condition

A poem defining the devious plight of mainstream media and it's affect on society

Chaos and mayhem
Current human condition
If we played by the rules and obeyed them
We wouldn't be in this position

Brother against brother
Blatant disregard for human lives
No compassion one to another
Ever present struggle to survive

A social disease
Pariah of our own creation
Turning blind eye with ease
Collective state of this wounded nation

Immorality the agenda
So feverishly digested
In this rotting gahenna
Lawlessness has manifested

History repeats itself , tis true
With such flawless distinction
Retribution long overdue
For total human extinction

Deception , social framework we swallow
Not seeing things for what they are
Like sheep to the slaughter we follow
Salting the wound , leaving a scar

Media Smokescreen's
Featured headline attraction
Starlett assaulted by ends of her means
We have become victims of a distraction

Seemingly no where to turn
Men of the cloth have become vermin
To their own words they spurn
As they regurgitate the sermon

Once united we stood
Now stands confused and undecided
If we all don't aspire for good
We will remain a nation divided

All the negative forces
So ardently asserted
Hate expounding many sources
Making innocence seem perverted

Governmental control
The immoral majority
Sell out to them , sell your soul
Making all mankind a minority

Politically correct propaganda
Trending to the offended
Masking dung covered manna
Righteousness should be defended

The evil Trinity exists
Government , Hollywood , the media
Goal to dismantle and dismiss
With loyalty at a premium

Government controls the helm
Hollywood desensitises the masses
Media spoonfeeds and overwhelms
Convincing us we are placed into classes

Speak now , with no freedom of speech
You'll forever hold your peace
This hypocrisy only fails to teach
Causing divisions to increase

Disgusted by this governmental intrusion
Perpetrated by the media's mission
To divide and conquer with confusion
Welcome to the human condition!

I applaud you for this excellent piece which so aptly describes todays society as media has made it. Despite a rhyme scheme in place you've managed not to deviate from your topic. Infact, the simple rhyme scheme adds to the beauty of this poem. I really liked it! Great work! :)
