Damaged Goods

Damaged Goods

A Poem by timthy
"

A poem for the emotionally bruised

"
For every tawdry word that is spoken
Whether ill willed or with good intent
No matter the outcome , a heart is broken
   Useless emotional energy spent

Scars linger on a broken heart
  As a token to remind
That someones world has been ripped apart
When you left this heart behind

I hung on every word you said
From the noose of a love that's blind
Heart mangled ,torn, and left for dead
Cursed be the rope that binds

My heart begs for resolution
   Some symbol of atonement
Disemboweled by the restitution
A heart caught up in the moment

Although this heart has been bruised
   Strongest muscle has been adjusted
An injury brought on by being used
For that , I am disgusted

Plagued by my own self abuse
   Trapped helpless in the woods
Does this heart serve any further use
Or am i just damaged goods...
