SolitudeA Poem by timthyA reflection into selfSolitude, you are my fortress Alone with my thoughts Forced to face my regrets Encouraged to celebrate personal triumphs Solitary, but not alone Silence is sometimes oddly enlightening Reflection, a necessary tool for growth Regret, an anchor I am bound to by my past Each day a new beginning , A chance to evolve and resolve The trappings of poor decisions and youthful folly Solitude, a chance for preparation and healing Loneliness, simultaneously humbling and Excruciating, The realization that the only diversion of achieving My personal goals is myself. I have a choice to become victim or victor The outcome is dependent on the decisions I make, and my plan to execute those decisions Alone, forced once again to find myself Placing pieces back together Of a soul that was lost and broken. Sometimes silence is as loud as a scream This sacrament of solitude is the first step Of feeling comfortable in my own skin.
