![]() Bar NoneA Poem by timthy![]() while sitting at any local "watering hole" you may have encountered a similar scenario...![]() Welcome , my friend What can I get you? You look sad and forlorn, Need a beer sir, I bet you So many sad stories Have been told at this bar, Yet the story you are telling Is the saddest thus far My duty as your bartender Bring you back from the brink What pays all my bills Is the amount that you drink Here is a free beer On the house, we will sip Tell me more of your pain While increasing my tip Please excuse me For there are other lost souls Can I get you another? For you are still in control One lost soul that I speak of Opposite end of the bar He has been here for hours Now he heads for his car Now that he is gone Finally, out of my hair You can continue to bore me With your saddest despair Pardon me, for a minute For I know what he drinks Only three stools away Of rum , does he stink I listen closely Accidently overhear That his current addiction Had started from beer This friend to him Only friend with a shaker Fills him up to the brim His tips, a big moneymaker He came in Already reeking of rum You take every dollar For he is only a bum Now that you are tipsy Informed of the last call Do you want one for the road Or buy rounds for us all The lost soul that had left About two hours ago Was his own designated driver On the phone, he is talking slow See, he is using his one call While pacing the jail floor In drunken stupor he proclaims He has killed family of four Bartender emphatically announces For I have done no wrong I serve fun in the form of ounces Just a place to come to belong All I try to do Is pour hours of unbridled fun The lights are down , the bar is closed Responsibility...BAR NONE...
