To all those who have loved and lost...

Memories never die

     They just fade away

New memories are created

     With each passing day

Remember the joy

     Remember the tears

Remember the bliss

     Of childhood years

Remembering mistakes

     You wish you could erase

I would do whatever it takes

     To feel your loving embrace

Time stops for no one

     We have got to move on

Regretting things you have said

     Regretting things you have done

Remembering a place

     Remembering a time

How I remember your face

     And when you were mine

Remembering the time

     That we shared together

The memories made

     Will be cherished forever

Love never dies

     It just fades away

Wishing there were something I could do

     Wish there were something I could say

The memories made

     Even time cannot erase

You slipped out of my life

     Without leaving a trace

Remembering a time

     When we were so care free

Remembering a time

     It was just you and me

What is done is done

     Cannot alter the past

The memories live on

     They will always last

Memories of us

     Cut deep like a knife

Memories can haunt you

     For the rest of your life

Knowing this to be true

     Let my destiny slip away

Now your memory haunts me

     Each and every day

You gave me your heart

     I threw it away

Now loneliness the price

     I am indebted to pay

For all that went wrong

     Knowing I am to blame

Yearning to remain strong

    Existence of guilt and shame

There is a love that lives on

    Please accept my apology

Having to accept that you are gone

    Forever to be a memory...

Just the pain of realizing that you are the source of your own loss and sadness, due to things you did or didn't do. That a love that seemed so real, is nothing but a vapor of a memory, and it could have been prevented.
