I see the metaphor here at first I thought it was just a simple get me out of Gaol poem a prisoner in gaol looking to get out then I re read it Along with afew of your other works and saw it in a totally diff light
Here stands someone saying the life sentence is life itself they don’t want life
I felt sad after seeing this in a diff way
Maybe I’m wrong probably!! Correct me if I misinterpreted it

I can relate to many of your poems. I like the simplicity of your poem. At first, I was expecting more but I think that you've said enough. I had to contemplate how the title fits into what the poem is saying. Originally I considered this to be a poem about being ready for death. After further reading, I came to the conclusion that this was a hopeful poem about being done waiting for life to get better but to find an escape even in captivity.
