To All The Chauvinistic D-Bags From Long Ago

Hello sir, how do you do?

You're probably extremely confused to see the sight in front of you.

You know, a young lady who did not curtsy to you in greeting

I am actually talking to you instead of listening to you

like an incompetent buffoon.

And... oh, I'm wearing pants.

You see sir; you're now looking at a time where women are

finally given rights- we're still working on it but hey, I've

already talked you into silence, right?

I am 16 years old and I do not have kids.

Heck

I don't think I'll get married by the time I'm 50

But you see, that's the point- I think you're smart enough to figure it out.

Let's also acknowledge the fact that I and other girls are flaunting our "unmentionables"

and I am only hoping that you understand the result from the

absence of metal on my wrists.

Oh, and a side note: we call them legs now

I can't sew, but I could tell you all about the solar system

... if your ego can take it

To All The Chauvinistic D-Bags Who Still Exist Today

live my life the way want to

You can try all you want, but I'll always be here to prove

you wrong- so stop trying

I won't waste anymore of your oh-so-valuable time

But I will ask you one favor- you'll be able to do just fine if

your virtues still exist:

Wait for me... wait for us

You're going to wish you never doubted us.

happy women's day to every woman I know and will know in the future. The empowerment of women is clearly displayed in this poem, I like the use of the curtsy it reminds me of Barbara Cartland's novels about the blue blood in England in 14th to 16th century. Women were trained then to make a perfect curtsy because they were oriented to be subservient to man's wishes.
