Long Gone

Long Gone

A Poem by Yemariam Markos

I can already feel us falling apart.
That gorgeous smile that made those blue eyes
twinkle is gone.
Where did it go? Where did we go?
Look at me, don't you love me anymore?
I want that smile back, I want to hear your stories
I want to feel your warm embrace
Where is the boy who would make me laugh
whenever I felt terrible?
Where is the boy who would joke at the worst time possible,
but still made me smile?
Look at me, don't you love me anymore?
You're slipping away, and I want to beg
I can't lose you now, I can't lose you at all
I probably sound petty, but that's
what you do to me.
I can't get a hold of you anymore, you're
too far away now
Long gone
Did you even love me at all?
