waiting alone

waiting alone

A Poem by yliana

Cold and windy
the beginning of the season
I stand without a jacket
Alone
waiting for my ride
I look around
and I see her
clinging onto him
for warmth
leaning on his shoulders
the same shoulders
I gaze at in class
hes holding her
the way I wish
he held me
a gray sweater he wears
matching the cold sky
to contrast her dark hair
dark hair I wish was mine
to put against him
I long for his warmth
as much as I long
for his attention
45 minutes
of being behind him
everyday
was always too short
but instead of dreaming
I come to reality
I wait by myself
in the cold
watching them be warm
and my heart stiffen
with the feeling of
silent jealousy
and lonliness
