My Crumbling Fortress

My Crumbling Fortress

A Poem by yinghua12

My Crumbling Fortress

unfounded accusations pelted at me from all directions

trying to ignore everything, failing

cowering under the strong repeated blows

wavering under a burden of guilt

guilt for all the unfounded accusations

pelted towards me with as much mustered force as possible

setting up a wall around me

trying to block out all the unfounded accusations

building up a wall around me

saving myself from the heavy burden of guilt

you've found my weakness whether you realize it or not

a burden of guilt weighing in from all sides

slowly breaking down the wall I've set up

unfounded accusations hurled at me from all directions

trying to ignore my crumbling wall

wishing I could build an ever-standing fortress around me

weakening under a heavy burden of guilt

guilt from all those unfounded accusations

thrown at me with as much mustered force as possible

the wall I've set up slowly crumbing

the unfounded accusations leaking in

the wall I've built myself slowly falling

the burden of guilt leaking in

my fortress crumbling, exposing my raw interior

a burden of guilt weighing in from all sides

slowly beginning to take it's toll on me
