Disaster and Mishap

Disaster and Mishap

A Poem by Jolly Jake

It’s the days that start so smooth,

With not a problem in sight,

You know that it can’t last,

You never stay at that height.

No one stays on top for long,

You can’t ignore gravity.

My green friend learned this well,

A result of our depravity.

Standing tall and strong,

On my lap my green friend stood.

But soon he was ignored,

I would have changed it if I could.

Powdered donettes were at hand,

And there was my mistake.

The lid was left unscrewed,

Leading to the lake.

That bumpy turn came fast,

The force was just to great.

Tumbling, falling, spilling,

And then sealed was my fate.

My nearby friend was hit as well,

In the very tragic mishap.

I’m reminded of Niagara Falls,

As the nalgene hit greg’s lap.

I learned an important lesson,

As the water soaked the seat.

Make sure the lid is closed,

Before you start to eat.

Author's Note

Jolly Jake
If you cannot pick the story up from the poem, i was in a car ride sitting next to a friend. I had donuts and a green nalgene of water. I went for the donuts and the water spilled all over my friend and the seat. This is the lesson i learned.
