![]() The StormA Poem by Jolly Jake![]() I was stuck in a storm in the ADKs![]()
In the midst of an Adirondack storm, I lay silently with my head back, Allowing my ears to soak in the sounds. The noise reverberates through the landscape, Piercing the thin walls of my shelter. Nature seems to stand still in awe, As thunder claps all around it. Like a thousand papers with deep voices, Were being rented into pieces overhead. To those uncovered it is menacing, But even so there is beauty. The air becomes fresh and cool, Refreshing those who revel in it. The storm is a display that is not outdone, It proclaims the glory of creation, And reflects the power of the creator. For such moments don’t come by chance. So I lay back and bathe in the sound and smell. One does not soon forget time spent, In the midst of an Adirondack storm.© 2009 Jolly JakeAuthor's Note
