Bite Back

Bite Back

A Poem by Claire
"

Designed to be read aloud.

"
When you can't eat at night
can't eat bacon so you hide it in pockets
When you squeeze the oil out of every fry you eat
When each meal symbolizes every meal
Order is disorder.
When I met you
I'd lived off this semichaos for three years already
Fell apart again in your arms
I showed you disorder
And you fought it with an order of your own:
"Breakfast."
I swallow two pieces of toast and my pride every morning.
