To and From the Boy Who Loved RainA Poem by ClaireA poem and reply.
Rain, with its syncopated lullabies
Could sing the saddest heart to sleep No weary heart, nor body, nor soul Could deny its song of peace; So sleep ye, let me not see the sorrows That so surround you when you wake Rest your heart, your body, your soul I'm by your side, and I will wait forever. Rain, for all the peace it ever brought me Could find its rival in your smile No wordly pain, no fear, no sorrow Could live in one by your side; So stay ye, let me see the priceless smile That so illumines all the air Rest from your pain, your fear, your sorrow I'm by your side, and I'll be there forever. © 2014 Claire |
