Facade

Facade

A Poem by Aimee Robinson
"

I wrote this poem a few days ago at my cabin. The boy portrays my cousin in a way, because I saw his pain while I was there.

"

Facade

Boy

chocolate brown hair rests on his head

short, loose curls blow in the wind

pounding the pasty skin

damp from the tears he has shed

Over

and

Over.

each time stopping

one heartbeat more.

Boy

walking down the street

stars glisten off those

radiant blue eyes

covered by oval-shaped glasses.

A mask

hiding.

fooling.

you see that big, bright smile

A trick.

Child,

i see your pain

seeping

from the inside out

those broken memories.

those whom have hurt you.

learn to forget

erase the past

Be known

and come out

from the obscurity

of the unknown.

Live once more

and

breathe again

My son.
