Your Once "Perfect" Child

Your Once "Perfect" Child

A Poem by ~DeathByButterflies~
"

I'll always be the same.

"
Do you see
Do you see
What hurts me so deep?
It is nothing but yourself,
Endlessly.
I am the disappointment,
I am nothing but shame.
I am your disgrace,
And I'll always be the same.
Your little girly-girl,
She was never meant to be.
I am the one you once thought
The perfect child to be.
It seems as though I'm lost,
As though the fire has burned.
I am not your little girl,
I cannot live with this hurt.
This one you knew,
The beauty of her heart,
All is black,
Seen as a lost art.
You left me hurt and broken,
And I'll always be the same.
Your once "perfect" child,
I'll always be put to shame.
Never was I right,
Only forevermore wrong,
And all I feel is pain,
The longer I hold on.
Maybe I did not grow up
To be your perfect child,
But I am still your grand-daughter,
And I used to make you smile.
I can't see your laughter,
I am only your disgrace.
Your once perfect child,
Lost from your good praise.

About
I guess you could say I'm just a kid that likes to write poetry. I'm little more than that, really. I write how I feel, and feel how I write. It may not always be the best decision, or the best writin.. more..
