A NIGHT IN THE FOREST

A NIGHT IN THE FOREST

A Poem by Yashika
"

It's about all the things you'll feel, see or hear in a forest, away from the town.

"
Wolves howling, trees rustling.
Hiding behind the clouds is the shining moon;
You get soothed by the sound of crickets all around chirping.
To encounter this is the biggest boon.

The dark and silence, though scary, is serene.
Crumpling the dried brown leaves that once used to be fresh and green;
The sleeping leaves and flowers exude a sense of lethargy,
Sleeping to freeze all their energy.
Only the moonflower stays awake,
To entice the lost and afraid.

The swooshing wind, the steps you take are the only sounds you hear.
The screeching owls, rutting deers, keep company to the ones who dare.
The smell of damp moss, rain, and wet tree trunks calming one down,
Loving the feeling of being far away from the hustle-bustle of the town.

you really get us there with your description, Yashika.

And what is best is the theme that comes seeping out of this forest of words.

We need to get more in touch with nature again, and away from our technology that keeps us
locked inside.

I love the forest. Some, however are afraid of the sounds and what's lurking out there that can get them. To each his own I guess.

Good poem.

I just can see how similar a topic you wrote on. I too have a poem on the forest but it deals with THE CREEPINESS that it contains. as always, great description

You create an ambience in this descriptive write. Sight, sound and the sense of smell and touch are all stimulated. Wouldn't be brave enough myself to want to spend a night there though :) Welcome to the forum Yashika.
