Be embodied

Be embodied

A Poem by Jacob

be embodied,

live this bodily life

sensing it, the movement

the heat,

it changes inside

it changes between

feel the need,

feel it small,

or burning, then go

go after it, fill it

in your way,

desire,

sometimes wait,

wait for the figure

to appear from your fog

then go, meet

get what you want,

distinguish,

what’s good for you today

may be bad tomorrow

two honey spoons are great

four cans are hard to swallow,

and if you don’t get it

feel disappointed,

cry and mourn

they hardly teach you

to do that

but you know,

respect the pain,

then fresh and smart

stand up and go again,

and when you get it,

wait, in joy, hold

feel the taste

savor the smell

that infinite uniqueness

of this moment

let it sink

nurishing

don’t rush,

it dissolves

into blessed frightening

emptiness and freedom

of endless opportunities

waiting to rise up
