Love is the epitome

The one thing in life that constantly makes us think

 

It isn't the simple "Damn girl I think you are fine"
Hoping to get a giggle or a smirk
Cause you know she'll fall for even that jerk
The cheap corny lines hoping to get in their minds
The lies told hoping for that one night stand
Dropping them before they wake cause you know you have nothing at stake

 

No that isn't love
That is the lust for nothing more than your hormones could care
That is the sleaze that comes to mind stopping at every corner with a dollar in hand
That is the man that waits for the drunken state to pounce on his date
That is what we call the dog that needs to be whipped and let go

 

No you see love is what true to hearts would call their everything
The complete feeling that can never be beat
Love is the knowing you have somewhere you belong
The feeling of actually being complete with someone who actually cared enough to stand along
The place where "Honey I'm home" actually means something more

 

Love is the companionship that lasts for all time
Not that simple boyfriend, girlfriend we see at every turn
No it is the husband and wife that vow till the end of time never to split
It is the commitment of eternity even knowing that all I will ever see is your face
It is the newborn child that makes even the most stubborn men fall down and cry
It is the family that growing up you never knew you would have
It is the "I never knew how I lived without all this" state

 

You see love isn't the sex that dogs always crave
It isn't the "I love you" that everyone throws around without any cares
It isn't that puppy love that comes all too often in our lives
It is the knowing "I love you" never has to be said to show I care
The undying support without ever asking why
The one call away where even 2 am means I'm up to hear all your fears

 

Love is the family and friends that always try
The people who don't accept "I'm ok, there’s nothing wrong"
Who constantly bug until even you have to go on
The ones who will listen and never judge on any date
Who spend all their time until finally you are free from all your lies
Even at the cost of missing out on that once in a lifetime
To be by your side is worth more than any dollar sign

 

Love is the ultimate feeling of pure bliss
Where nothing seems to matter but you and her
When opening car doors and holding her purse is worth all the looks
Even as friends wonder "Is he whipped"
But to you this is worth any risk
The reward that comes with being with you is worth any diss

 

The truest love for this man is just being with you
When calling after work to say hi is worth his weight in gold
When long pauses, staring at you, mean more than nights out with the guys and cheap booze
The holding your hand knowing you never want to let go
The hug at every goodbye is simply heaven by your side
A feeling unmatched by any value of the mind
The finally knowing, I have all that I ever wished for under every star in the sky

Love is the standard that is worth all our cares
Love is the everything that has no fears
Love is you the one who holds all my fears

 

The complete, the commitment of time
The treasure simply too hard to find
That is what is worth the time
The love that stands even the test of time

This is a beautiful epic tribute to the meaning of love. You have a masterpiece here and it is a stunning work of word artistry. It held my attention from start to finish. I find so much to like and quote that I am having a very hard time picking out just a few things. But you sum it all up amazingly. I will have to say these lines are worth engraving in stone.
