Will of Tomorrow

 

The strong inner strength that shines through when adversity strikes

The courage from within that pushes us to continue the fight

The acceptance from life that has made us grow through the night

This is what has made us understand what it meant when we first took flight

 

As the sun shines down blinding us with its beauty and its light

We remember why we chose to rush into the horrors that may send us into the night

It is not the fear that tries to hold us back

It is the knowing we must charge forward to succeed at what strikes fear in our back

The struggles that we push aside to just be free from our guilt

The regrets we hold within so our dreams can finally take flight

The dreams that show us, we are someone in this struggle that is our life

 

As the day carries on, seemingly without any end

We remember the reasons why we started the day off right

Not letting our fears hold us back from the dares

Pushing forward even as our mistakes increase all our cares

Struggling through what did not first appear

We continue to move on as if we have nothing left to fear

Moving on as our dreams continue to lead us through the darkest days

 

As adversity strikes from out of the blue

Our character comes into question even if we never knew

When honesty is no longer accepted as the truth

When determination and hard work mean nothing if your name is not proud

The day when you lose the fight because of the right choices you made

Continuing to question why you ever even tried not to lie

That is when you have found something that means more than a material life

 

When the conflict that is love and pain enter your very existence

You wonder if loving them truly was the way to go

To give and to give yet still be left with nothing but yourself

To hold a trust you felt would last because of love

To question whether being alone was the way your heart should go

Regretting ever letting anyone in because of the pain they continue to show

Even then you still wonder “Is this love really worth the pain you have shown”

 

To move forward as life continues to push you back

To follow your dream even when the fight has been lost

That is the test of the truth that continues to move us along

 

The many challenges that force us to change our path

The forks in the road that make us question whether we are on the right path

This is what makes living life truly worth all of its spite

 

To challenge the dreary thoughts that stand as the morning light shines

Continuing to fight back even as it tries to bring you down

Showing the world that we will not falter at the slightest sight of change

To keep the will of tomorrow strong as we continue with our fight

 

To stare adversity down as it presents the challenges that come with age

Living with the regrets and the many could have beens

Punch for punch, step for step, we still stand in the middle of the ring that is life

To keep our will of tomorrow strong as we continue with our fight

 

To challenge the pain that grows from the ones we love

Pushing forward as time heals the wounds dug deeper by our distrust

Being honest with ourselves even as our lonely hearts falter

Just to keep the will of tomorrow strong as we continue with our fight

 

The question that stood when we first woke from our early slumber

The worries that came as we stared down the world of tomorrow

That is when we understood, this test that is the changes of tomorrow

To continue to fight, to continue to push, to just live our life

That is what we have always misunderstood

 

There was nothing holding us back from our new day

All we had was ourselves to blame

To hide from the adversity that is our new day

That is what should fear when we step out today

The will from within that leads us through our new tomorrows

The strength we have that will lead us through all our sorrows

This is what will stand as we begin our new tomorrow
