We Could Dance on Sinking Moons While Planting Dreams For Tomorrow

We Could Dance on Sinking Moons While Planting Dreams For Tomorrow

A Poem by Michael Handel

Dance this dance...
it is dire, important,
for tomorrow's tumult is
not quite known yet--so
please-please for the sake
of the seas, in the name of
the trees--please, in silence,
dance timeless with me.

In the name of the rose whose
buds are dying
as Winter swallows Summer's triumph.
In the name of the muses
musing nihilists
while brushes faltered, pens fell silent.

Can we dance above the ocean,
the sinking Moon's beneath us
holding? The world belongs to
seeds not sewn yet...
we dance on moon, our rose is growing.

I know its flow isnt's so solid. Me likes dreamy erratic flows...not unlike attempting to dance on sinking moons while....well the title says it all, really.

this is so good it actually pains me slightly to read out of sheer jealousy. the first stanza is my favorite stanza of yours you've ever written ever. all your new stuff is so. good.

this is actually lovely. i love the pleading tone of the first verse:

"so
please-please for the sake
of the seas, in the name of
the trees--please, in silence,
dance timeless with me. "

those are some great lines right there. and the title is great, as well. :)
