An Open Letter to a Dear FriendA Poem by Yael Asofsky
Dear Old Friend,
A Your mere seven letters push the four of 'mine' all over the place. N I told you to leave me alone and leave me be and yet you chase. X Stop following me! My mom thinks I'm rude and my dad thinks I'm a basket case. I When will this torment end? After I've become a disgrace? E Enough already, the clock is ticking but there is no time I can trace. T Every waking moment a collection of pain, hurt, and sorrow I wish to erase. Y You never left. You were the only one who stayed. You were the ace.
