A Chapter by Stacey

Those stage lights shining down on me. The moment when there's nothing on the stage, the lights are turned down and the spotlight shining on you is so bright, you can no longer see the faces in the crowd.
I stare out into the crowd, getting ready to belt my character's heart out. I close my eyes and count to three. But once I open my eyes, I'm in my original spot and there she is, the beautiful girl with the blonde hair tied back in a ponytail, dressed in her tight, short, sparkling dress that wouldn't even looked good on me if I tried.
I look down at my hands, placed on the keys of the piano. I begin to start playing and watch as she prances around the stage, lights flashing all around as she gets the choreography perfect. Almost like she could do it in her sleep. Background dancers come from both sides of the stage and follow her as she wanders around the stage.
She lifts herself up on the top of the piano, still singing with her angelic voice that she has. The dancers stare at her in awe. The spotlight shines on her as the song gets softer. Just as you think the song ends, the song gets upbeat again and two cute guys in tux's come by and pick her up off the piano and bring her to the front of the stage again and the dancers come running to smother her with love.
They all lift their hands as she sings the last note and holds it for as long as she can. Once it's over, they fall to her feet and the crowd goes wild. She takes her bow and acknowledges to me. I smile and begin to wave but I barely get even two seconds before the spotlight is put on her again. She gives kisses to the crowd and hurries off the stage. The stage goes dark and I'm suddenly alone in the giant auditorium. I gather my music pages and start walking off but suddenly there's a spotlight on me. I turn to see one person get to their feet and start applauding. As my eyes adjust, I see him. I smile, wanting to go talk to him, tell him how I feel. But that's a mistake.
I hurry off the stage and suddenly I'm at her house. She's having an after party again, but I'm just her servant when she wants something. She asks for her phone so I hand it to her and she laughs at whatever the text must have said and quickly typed back. She gave me her phone again and continued talking with her friends. Eventually, I'm allowed to leave by many complaints of me being there. I walk outside and I see my best friend. The only thing I can do is hug him and cry.
Then I wake up.
My dreams are no different from my every day life.
