Sheltered

Sheltered

A Poem by K.D.R

Sheltered

My heart is hardened

As hard as the hardest of stone

I shall let no one in

Go away comfort doesn't suit me

Leave, do you not listen

Why must you persist

Here you are chipping away

Getting into my darkest secrets

I've been sheltered my whole life

Tucked away kept safe from the world I'm in

Please don't

I'm scared of what is to come

I'm like a lonely child in the middle of a storm

And now light dawns on me

I'm in a cocoon of my own worries

Yet you found a way in

Here's the opening

You lend me a hand to run away from my fears

Protect me, keep me safe

My home is destroyed

It is your turn to keep me sheltered

You're my new home

This is an inspiring poem... I just have one advice... Maybe if you add a poetic flow. Like rhyming or something in that matter. But overall your poem is great.. Keep on writing...

Thank you I'll keep that in mind
Beautiful and very touching! I noticed one little mistake at the end, there's "your", shouldn't there be "you're?"
