The One in the Mirror

The One in the Mirror

A Story by Mel
"

Looking into the mirror - which is the real me? Are we the same? [An entry from my journal.]

"

I have always wondered if the person in the mirror is the real me, while I, living, am the fake. The portrait image within a box, locked away. And if my mirror image is the real me, I always wonder how I am doing; am I happier? More intelligent? More courageous? Guileless? Asinine? Careless? If I am the fake, do we live opposite lives? Who is that person - that person in the mirror? I wish I knew if they realized that they are indeed the real me, and that I am the fake. Or do they believe that they are the fake, while I am real? What is real? Perhaps my mirror image is what I deem it to be; real if I want to be real, fake if I want to be fake. Perhaps life really is but a dream, and this is just one endless, errant thought.

the things we ponder away heh? the man in the mirror, what if it really is more than a reflection, we look into a mirror and a whole other world appears, it looks so real and yet it is boxed in...you make me understand how people believe in nihilism through this write. i wish more people would post their muses on here. nice write.

This is a magnificent write.
I often ponder questions such as these.
I used to write them down in a journal too, but I lost it recently :s
I'd have to say that my favorite part is;
"Perhaps life really is but a dream, and this is just one endless, errant thought."
Excellent write!
