Cold Kiss

Cold Kiss

A Poem by Mel
"

Frozen kisses designed to leave you wanting more. It's been a long time since I've really been able to write, so forgive me if this is awful.

"

The night is cool, the streets are dark,
there’s a slight frost in the air.
Walking down an abandoned road,
a faint gasp touches my ears.
I am poised in grace now,
my senses enthral me.
Leaned against the wall, she stands,
her eyes glazed with lust.
If dead hearts could beat,
my own would be pounding,
louder and louder in my ears.
I hold her to me, bodies pressed together,
lips trailing her cheek.
Mouths touch -
sweet and intoxicating,
and she arches her back,
reaching for more.
The scent of her body is inescapable,
driving me to madness.
Higher, higher we rise,
ecstasy to come.
Moments pass and I walk away,
a cold body on the ground.

I imagine something dark and sensual when I read this. Of course, everything is dark with me.

Amazing!

"If dead hearts could beat,
my own would be pounding,
louder and louder in my ears."

These lines make me think of vampires.

That was deep. Does it mean that the kiss killed her?

This stanza made the poem for me. This causes you to pause and hear your own heartbeat. I think you are out of your poetry funk. This was great. I like poets that tells a complete story or thought in their poetry. They do not leave you guessing at the end. That is why despite the darkness of your work I like you. There is no guessing but yet your poetry entertains me and it reminds me that we most of us has a dark side that wants to come out and play! Send me more, send me more!
