This is where
I bid adieu
To a life half-lived,
Devoid of hue.
Fettered , banal
And listless.
A journey steadily
Engulfed in darkness
To a point where
Existence has become synonymous with Oblivion.
Virginia trod the same path once,
Which I will walk this day.
The reason's the same.
Neither have feared the world at large.
Our nightmares, instead,
Have forever
Been comprised of our shadowy selves -
A reminiscence of our hideous past,
And a reflection of our sordid future.
Hence we choose to end our present.
Only the execution differs ...
And yet I did
Live a dream once.
Her golden locks danced on my face
As I chased her 'round the meadows -
Through the shadows and the sun.
A ray of hope in the darkness.
A relief from my paranoia.
A pretty little thing that made me
Feel wanted.
Mon amour.
My nightmares return
To haunt me again.
For here she lies in my arms tonight-
Her golden locks unwavering.
Silent.
Lifeless.
This is the end of my dream.
And this is where
I end my nightmares.
