Daydreaming

Daydreaming

A Poem by Roy

You lament an unknown world.
A world constructed of ‘if’s for bricks
And ‘would’s for mortar.
A alternate universe in which
You are the sole focus.

And time freezes, even though Time flies by.
What is, seems not.
And what cannot be, seems at arm’s length.

And you run around in circles,
Infinite,
Chasing your own shadow:
A figment of your imagination.
And wondering why your world never came true.
