Fallen

Fallen

A Poem by caitlin

I’ve fallen for you,
Fallen from the Heavens,
Crashed through the clouds.
I try to make my wings
Carry me up high once more,
But no matter how hard I try
They simply will not.

I’ve fallen for you
And now I know
That to fall for you
Was a mistake.
I gave away
A life in Paradise
To be with you,
And in return you left me in the cold.

I have learned
That once an Angel falls
There is no going back.
Once an Angel falls,
Paradise becomes out of reach.
I suppose that most would think
It would be worth giving up Paradise
To be with someone like you,
But I know that such is not the truth.

I’ve fallen for you,
And now my wings
Have faded to gray,
My halo of gold
Is melting away.
I wanted to be with you,
But you left me in the cold
With nothing but black tears to shed.

I’ve fallen for you,
Fallen from the Heavens,
Crashed through the clouds.
I try to make my wings
Carry me up high once more,
But no matter how hard I try
They simply will not.
