In the simple blink of an eye
Everything seems to just disappear,
And time seems to just pass us by.

A childhood vanishes into thin air,
And an entire life seems to fade away.

Things seem to go from bad to worse,
And no one seems to care.

In the simple blink of an eye
We realize that we’ve missed out on the important things,
And that we’ve made mistakes that we can never fully reverse.

In the simple blink of an eye
We come to know the truth,
And we are hurt by the lies.

In the simple blink of an eye
We can feel the most unbearable pain,
And endless misery.
But we can all come to know love,
And end the misery,
And heal the pain;
We can all throw away the lies,
And accept the truth;
We can learn from our mistakes,
And open our eyes in the future;
We can learn to so show a little compassion,
And turn the bad into good;
We can live life to its fullest in the time that we have,
And start anew when everything disappears;
And we can do it
In the blink of an eye.
