Hell Hath No Fury, Hell Hath No Remorse

Hell Hath No Fury, Hell Hath No Remorse

Those definitive and repeated words spoken so fearfully,
"Oh my God,"
Horrid screams of utter terror
As flames and smoke poor through shattered windows,
And broken walls.
The sound of a plane flying through the air,
And another explosive sound
One just like the first explosion
That woke an entire city,
An entire nation,
Or at least it awoke those who weren't already awake,
Awake and at work or school or the babysitters.
Horrified people run through the crowded city streets
As emergency vehicles rush to the scene of the burning buildings,
The media takes a risk
And runs to the scene
To capture what they can
Of this terrifying day
That will surely make history.
People stand in windows
With flames behind them
Smoke almost consuming them
As they say their last prayer
Before plunging to their certain death,
I suppose the feeling of rushing air
And pavement hitting hard against the skin
Is better than being burned alive.
It's not long
Before a silence shattering crash
Breaks the not so silent silence,
And the south tower crumbles like sand,
And if people weren't running before
They're certainly running now
As a dark black smoke
Moves through the city
Like a destructive tornado.
Don't worry citizens of America
This will not be the first time this black smoke
Causes a complete blackout in the light of day,
And if you're thinking of brushing the piles of debris off your clothes and skin
Don't bother,
Because soon you'll be covered again,
And it won't come off anyway,
Because it will stick to you
Just like the memory of this horrid day.
"Oh my God!
Oh my God!
Oh my God!"
Sir please don't look back now
There's nothing to see but smoke anymore.
The North tower has just fallen
And the smoke is coming fast.
Ma'am please run, quickly,
Somebody grab the kid,
Quickly now
Before darkness engulfs us all again.
Can't you see we're being attacked?
Where is our military?
Somebody please hear our cries,
Oh God please
Have mercy on us all.
A fire chief calls for his men,
But they do not respond;
Our heroes of America,
Our firefights, our police, and paramedics,
They've been buried beneath the rubble,
And we may never find them now,
But they are there somewhere
Who knows if they're alive
Though I find it quite doubtful,
But they are certainly there
Among the debris and the hundreds, thousands of other bodies,
And...
"Oh my God!"
It's a child,
Somebody help him,
Somebody...
"Oh my God!"
He's dead!
He's dead!
He was just a poor innocent boy.
You b*****d terrorists!
Don't you see what you've done?
You've killed an innocent child,
No, wait, not child,
Children, child in the plural!
"Oh God!
Oh God!"
Angry cries ring through the city,
"We should kill them for this!"
"We should just go and bomb the people
Who did this to us!"
"No animal who does such a thing as this
Deserves to live,
They have no place in this world!"
Red raged eyes stare at debris,
The enemy, our attacker
Clear on the mind,
And don't you see,
You damn terrorists,
The statue of liberty is shaking her fist at you,
And can't you see Uncle Sam pointing his finger,
And shouting,
"I want you... Dead!",
And I'll be damned
An eagle just flew through the smoke,
And he's headed straight for you
His beak like a sword
Ready to penetrate your cold and empty souls.
May you be cursed for eternity!
Don't you see what you've done?
And now, so many years later
You still don't seem to see
What harm you have done.
You do not understand
Why what you did is considered wrong,
Even though now
The only thing standing
In that spot filled with nightmares
Is not two towers
But rather just an American flag
A symbol of our nation,
Of our strength,
Of what happened on the horrid day,
And you to care not,
Because I don't see you bow your head and ask for forgiveness
For what you have done;
Instead I see you laugh,
And spit on us like we are dirt.
Hell hath no fury,
Hell hath no remorse.
