We Still Remember

We Still Remember

A Poem by caitlin

Another 9/11 Poem that I'm transferring from AllPoetry

"

If you thought we'd forget
Then you better think again,
Because we still remember
What you did that day,
And we'll never forget
What you did to us.
I'd like to say
That we should do the same to you,
After all that is the golden rule,
"Do onto others, as you want done onto you,"
But then again,
"An eye for an eye
Makes the whole world blind,"
Though I doubt you really care,
Because if you did
You wouldn't have done what you did;
You wouldn't have killed so many people
So many men, women, and children;
You wouldn't have taken
So many innocent lives.
You've filled us with a rage
That can not be calmed;
You've lit a fire within us
That can not be extinguished,
And we will fight
Until you've paid the price
For the crime you've committed
Against this country,
And if you think we'll ever forget
Then you better think again,
Because we'll never forget.
