The Trial

The Trial

A Poem by caitlin
"

Inspired by a really creepy instrumental song called "the trial" by a band called attrition.

"
Shh child,
Quiet yourself in this court of hell.
For it has come the time of your trial.
Can’t you hear the spirits,
The ghosts, whisper?
They speak your name, child.
Shh, hush your whimpers,
They are nothing but an expression of your fear now.
For there is no one here to hear you,
No one but the spirits and the ghosts
Who will decide your fate.
Do not scream, child.
For there is no one here who will help you,
No one here who will save your soul.
You are damned child,
You are damned because the spirits have declared you damned,
You are damned because the ghosts have declared you damned.
And now child, you may step through the blackened door before you.
Now you may step into the world of the damned,
The world where you will come to face
All your worst nightmares,
And all your greatest fears.
