Softly Spoken

Softly Spoken

A Poem by Travis Ralston aka LIAR
"

This is what I want.

"

See me for what I never became
Look in my head and follow the road
Right out of this world and into the next
Place your tongue in the gaping hole
Where my brain used to sit
And tell me how it tastes

My breath comes out cold
In the summer time heat
The drones fly from perch to perch
Handing out paper and handcuffs
Tying the next helpless nobody to a post
And leaving them out to starve

Seeing backwards moves life along
The cars go fast and the wind crawls
With infant like precision
The selfless act of being an absolute invisible nothing
Propels everyone ahead one step in line
They hear a voice and never remembers
Where it came from

And what I want
Is for you to kill me
Because I lack the complete courage
To do anything for myself
