Moving On and Musing

Moving On and Musing

A Poem by Christie

Love cannot be quantified.
It's not the number that came before,
How many may come after,
Not the hours that you spend,
Or the money that you don't.
Love is zen,
It's the moment nothing else matters,
It's scrambled eggs after
A long kiss on a long night,
And it's the past quietly whispering
Goodbye.
Love does not make lists,
Does not ask for perfect.
It's not age, but
The will to change, and
Love laughs, love jokes,
Love doesn't count the years,
Or the tears, or the fights,
Or who was right,
Because none of it matters when
Love drives you down that long, windy, drunken road,
And ignores the limits and the stops,
Because love knows,
It's just a ride,
And there's nowhere but everywhere to go.

Wow, I really like this. The first line in each stanza seemed to mean something to me. "Love doesn't make list" is a great line. Love is something you feel, it often can't be explained, but you know its there. I feel that your poem illustrates this quite eloquently. Nice Job.
