Forgotten Bullet

A rapid sucession of gunfire in the distance
a sea of motionless decay
a swarm of death
against a canvas of sand

A heart renching scene
of a man carrying his brothers
pale cold breathless carcass

There shall be no victory today
This field of lost souls
will soon be overgrown and forgotten
and the only reminder
a burried bullet
and a beatless heart
