Thinking of YouA Poem by RileyThinking of You Our songs comes on the radio and I smile at the thought of you Eating at our favorite restaurants and I smile at my memory of you Hearing the court house bells chime, I smile because it reminds me of you. I see a blue mustang and I smile, thinking of you Needing someone to talk to you and I think of you Wishing to start all over again and I think of you When I think of happiness, I think of you When you hear our song, do you think of me? When you go to our favorite restaurants, do you think of me? If you hear the court house bells chime, do you think of me? When you see a black focus, do you think of me? When you need someone to talk to, do you think of me? Do you wish you could start over, and think of me? When you think of happiness, do you think of me? When you spend time with her, do you remember the good times we shared? Does she understand your weirdness and laugh at your jokes the way I did? Do you have those conversations like we had, where you can really talk to her, and tell her everything? Do you sit up till 3am and play silly games like we did? I know you must be happy, and I am glad you are, Finally I don’t long for us to be together, and know we have drifted afar. But I still think of you from time to time, and wish you the best But honestly, I just want to lay us to rest. When our song comes on, I don’t want to smile at the thought of you When I’m eating a restaurant, I don’t want to smile at my memories of you If I hear the court bells chimes, I don’t want to smile because it reminds me of you And when I see a blue mustang, I don't want to smile, thinking of you. When I need someone to talk to, I don’t want to think of you, When I wish I could start over, I don’t want to think of you, And when I think of happiness, I really don’t want to think of you. But most of all, I hope you don’t think of me too, Because sometimes it really hurts… thinking of you.
