Eyes Say So Much

Jet black tears

Stream from charcoal rivers.

And I wail,

Like a miserable whale

Bellowing out sadness.

Blubbering because once again

I feel pathetic and worthless.

Ruby eyes.

Fiery eyes.

Butchered eyes.

Tender eyes. 

Tenderized.

Awesome word choice!! Eyes are always a great subject for poetry. I've read some pretty bad short poems (not on this site, at my school's lit magazine!) about eyes, but this one has so much depth in just a handful of words, it's as if you have to re-read it to get the full meaning and emotions of the whole thing. Excellent work!

This is awesome, I really, really, really liked the last two lines, that's really clever! But I like the kind of "chopiness" of this, it really makes for a cutting, riveting, emotional poem. The first two lines are especially awesome as well. GREAT POEM!
